For the filming of ‘Ferris Beullers day off’ in 1986, 4 exact copy bodies of the iconic 250 swb spyder were made, as using 4 original cars would have been impossible, only 75 were originally produced between 1960, and 1963 , the cost of a single car would have been more than the total budget for the film (an original car is now 20-30 million dollars).

The MR Skunkworks developed cars are derived from one of the film cars, with adaptations to be hand built originally in glass fibre (Vetroresina VR models), and now in hand rolled alloy (Superleggera SL models) on a modern German chassis, and electrical architecture.

Comforts such as ABS braking, Air conditioning, hydraulic roof, Elecric windows/locking/seats give a vehicle that evokes what is considered to be one of the most beautiful Italian carrozzaria lines given to an automobile, combined with contemporary high performance, and low running costs.

MR Skunkworks specialise in hand built vehicles to the customers individual specifications, no two cars are the same, and take over 6 months to build.

Our Z250 superlight is based on BWW 3.0 straight 6 engined chassis, with either 5 speed manual, or tiptronic automatic gearbox, all factory chassis safety zones are retained, and mechanicals are fully refurbished, with new suspension, and brakes, giving performance, and useability that far exceeds any vehicle from the 60’s.
